NEW HOPE MUSIC MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT | NEW HOPE MUSIC MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES | |
The Music Ministry is dedicated to serving the body of Christ at New Hope, by encouraging the congregation to become whole-hearted worshippers of the Lord. We pursue this primarily by providing music for worship services, but also through our example aside from the music. Our objective is to help people achieve an attitude of worship. It is not to entertain, or to worship on their behalf. It is not to develop or demonstrate our musical skills, and it is not for our own edification. Our desire is to help our congregation experience the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ when gathered to worship Him. | The music ministry at New Hope is always open to receiving new members. The music and our praise team members should neither detract from the worship of God (by being poorly planned or delivered), nor distract from true worship (by attracting attention to themselves and away from God). Different musical styles and arrangements may be appropriate for use in worship. The critical issue is not whether we worship in style, but whether we worship in spirit and truth. Below are members responsibilities to be taken into consideration. |
